Three questions determine the backup strategy
1. Which loads matter?
Refrigeration, lighting, communications and selected receptacles require much less backup power than large air-conditioning systems, electric water heating, cooking equipment or EV charging.
2. How long should backup last?
Battery energy capacity determines duration, while inverter output determines how much load can be powered at one time. Both matter.
3. How will the battery recharge?
Solar can recharge storage during daylight hours, but weather and household consumption affect how much energy is available for recovery after an outage.
